The New Jersey Colonials has a staff of highly qualified professional hockey coaches with a wealth of knowledge and experience in hockey.

NOEL RUBIN, Boys Hockey Director


• Ik skaret and If Husums, 1st Division Clubs in Sweden

SHELLEY LOONEY, Women’s Hockey Director

 

    • Two time USA Hockey Women’s Olympic team member, 1998 & 2002. Scored the game winning goal against Canada in the Nagano, Japan XVIII Winter Olympics on the first ever USA Women’s Olympic team
  • Has played in 8 World Championship games, 7 sliver medals - 1 gold medal
     Assistant Coach at the University of Vermont 2004 -2005

• Assistant Coach of the 17-U Boy's USA Hockey National Development Program 2003-2004

• Played 4 years at Northeastern University; Awards include: ECAC All-Star Teams, 93 ECAC Tournament MVP, 93-94 ECAC Player of the Year

• Inducted into Northeastern College’s Hockey Hall of Fame in 1999. Took 2 of our Women’s teams to Nationals in the 2005-06 Season Played travel hockey since the age of 6 in Michigan

 

 

DENNIS DOHERTY, Boys Assistant Coaching Director

 

• USA Hockey Level 3 Advanced Coaching Certification

• Head Coach of New Jersey Colonials Tier I &Tier II teams: Squirt AAA, PW AAA Major/Minor,  Bantam and Midget levels

• Head Coach, Westfield HS (2001-present) 2005 Van Cott Cup Champions
 2005 Star Ledger Central Conference Coach of the Year

• Head Coach, Bridgewater-Raritan HS (1996-2000); Won 1998 American B Division Championship and McInnis Cup

• Has been coach to over 35 players who have gone on to play college hockey
Has taught over 18 years of power skating and skill development at various hockey schools throughout the country

• Played 4 years of college hockey at North Adams State College (currently Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts
